Before adding your DKIM record, you'll need to add your SPF record first. You can find instructions by clicking here.

DKIM stands for DomainKeys Identified Mail which is an email authentication protocol. In simple terms, it provides another way to validate emails sent from AthletaDesk. This form of authentication verifies that your emails were not forged or altered. This ultimately reduces the likelihood that your emails will end up in the junk folder.

Generate your DKIM record settings:

  1. Click "Settings" in the top right-hand corner and select "Business Settings".
  2. Select the "Email & SMS" tab.
  3. Click the blue "Learn More" button from the "Deliverability Report" prompt.

A popup will appear that will detail the SPF and DKIM records that you'll need to use. Use these details to create your CNAME Record with your domain provider.

The idea is to achieve a level of defense against fraudulent email, such as phishing and spoofing, that could erode an email recipient's trust in receiving email. The act of sending authenticated email does not necessarily assert that the email is good or wanted by the recipient. It only means that the mail is being sent from a reputable source, and can help increase email acceptance and potentially increase deliverability.
